You'll want to start with joining a social media site. Linked In, Facebook and groups on Ning.com are where you will find your target audience. Look for a group that has a lot of members and open forums or groups to join.
Once you have joined a group, take the time to s…

The current grant applicant is Gazelle Simmons, a virtual assistant and author. She started her business Admin Services in 1998 and is currently in need o…

Researchers are uncovering some info on women executives and the fact that they can be bullies too, here are some thoughts on the issues:
As a co-active coach, executive consultant and long-time handler of all types of harassment and workplace bullying issues, I find the gender issue less relevant that the power issue when we’re seeking redress.
Pay attention to the gamesmanship involved in the bullying. Ask: is the bullying motivated by fear or by a ’strategic take-over’ of career or power or…

I firmly pulled away the leafy greens from the vein that holds them together. Some coarse and meaty, some light and feathery, some dense and chewy, all the sustenance that strengthen my body, and soothe my spirit. Oh, greens you are my comfort. You have seen me through when no meat, or sweet could make me complete. You were the one that required focus and resolve. One by one you had to be addressed. Each leaf had to be touched. Each held and stripped. Each one washed and freed of dirt and debris…

They all smiled at me and I knew what they wanted. The purple black eggplant, those perfectly round and fragrant cherry tomatoes, tender juicy sweet corn, big fat red onions, round musky portabella mushrooms and even the green zucchini wanted to be involved in this melange of flavors, textures and tastes. They begged for the searing hotness that I could provide. So I did what I do best. I gave them what they wanted; something searing and hot, tangy and juicy, sweet and pungent. They all began to…

There's an Ashanti proverb that says: "Do not follow the path. Go where there is no path to begin the trail." My grandmother, Daisy Trammell, was born in Georgia in 1898 and came to Tuskegee as a young woman with two babies escaping from a tyrannical relationship with a married man; my grandfather. Grandmama never heard of the Ashanti people, however she unconsciously lived her life based on this fearless proverb.
My grandmother was on the other side of fifty when she decided to open her own re…

Yesterday I had the scrumptious opportunity to dine in
Chef Nita’s Kitchen. It can be described as a wicked, I mean wicked, culinary experience. The taste of the meal was still on my palate for
HOURS!
She cooked coconut rice, pan seared trout with lime chili sauce, and sautéed black kale with red onions. For dessert she prepared not only one, but two desserts. The infamous
Banana Pudding Supreme was served, as well as
Cherry “The Bomb” Cobbler.
Chef Ni…

Today is the day to identify the
Energy Vampire, or toxic person in your life, and make a plan to get rid of the relationship. An energy vampire is that person who tries to zap all of your energy from you within a five minute conversation. It is the person who is forever being negative and is constantly trying to drag you into her problem.
How do you do get rid of, or in this case, put that relationship in the trash? If you HAVE TO talk to the person, then limit them to
TWO MIN…

Tan and smooth. Covered lightly in a thin sheen of melted butter; belly stuffed with sauteed onions, celery, shallots, and finely minced fresh thyme, this is no fowl impostor. Dusted lightly with sage and poultry seasoning, her musky fragrance tickles the nostrils and promises more to come. Much More. Those beautiful brown legs and delicate creamy breast provoke lust and desire in all who happen to sneak a peak at the lovely hen. She is no common lady this one; fed the finest food and water, give…

I have a small women's social networking group that I just launched and the purpose is to expand our social circle, enjoy brunch at interesting places and have speakers come to make presentations that are inspirational or motivational in some way by sharing stories about either professional or personal experiences.
Although I cannot compensate you for your presentation, this would be an opportunity to promote your business to a group of 30-something women and we will feed you brunch :) If it is…

Why Not Wednesday. Today step out of your own way, go against the norm and accomplish something spectacular.
Instead of saying, “I can’t do it because….” say “Why not?”
Today is the day to become a trailblazer!
What do you think would have happened if President Obama had decided not to go against the grain of traditional politics? He would probably still be in Chicago, maybe still in the Senate, but not in the White House. Instead of preventing himself from runnin…

Today is
Time Out Tuesday. Today we are going to put everyone and everything
ON HOLD in order to take time to handle the items that are currently on our plate and do-to list. This is important because the more we put on ours plates, the more it overflows, and the more overwhelmed we become.
When my son was in high school, I volunteered for
EVERYTHING. I chaired the Monte Carlo Night Committee. I chaired the Golf Fundraiser. I was team mom for the football, basketball, baseb…

Today is
Make It Your Own Monday. Today take something and make it your own by adding your special style or mark to it. My favorite example is how Nike took simple clothing pieces, added a check mark to them, and then created a unique style. Without the check mark, a tee short, polo shirt, or golf cap would be just another piece of clothing.
In our lives, it could be something as simple as taking an off-of-the rack dress that is in your closet and wearing it with
red pumps…
