Before becoming a mediator and arbitrator, I litigated "bet the company" environmental insurance coverage, antitrust, securities and intellectual property disputes as well as smaller commercial disputes of all types. I practiced law for 25 years in California before becoming a mediator and arbitrator. I earned my JD from U.C. I have taught business law at California State University, negotiation at UCLA's Anderson School of business, and mediation at USC School of Law and the Straus Institute, Pepperdine School of Law. I teach lawyers deposition and trial skills through the National Institute of Trial Advocacy and Solo Practice University. I have trained lawyers, executives and managers at AmLaw 100 and 200 law firms and Fortune 500 companies how to negotiate better deals. I am a member of the Distinguished Panel of Neutrals with the prestigious International Institute of Conflict Prevention and Resolution and am one of the founding members of Mediators Beyond Borders. My book, "A is for Asshole, the ABC's of Conflict Resolution" will be published by Janis Publications this summer.
