I'm an attorney-mediator and arbitrator with ADR Services, Inc. in Century City, California and the American Arbitration Association (expedited commercial panel). I am also an Adjunct Professor at the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, Pepperdine School of Law; an instructor for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy; and, a Settlement Officer with the United States District Court for the Central District of California. I am a member of the Standing ADR Committee with the California State Bar Association.

I graduated with a degree in Literature from the University of California at San Diego, went on to Law School at the University of California at Davis (graduating Order of the Coif in 1980) and received my LL.M in Dispute Resolution at the Straus Institute in 2006. I practiced commercial litigation for twenty-five years, as a partner at Hancock Rothert & Bunshoft (now merged with Duane Morris); and, an associate attorney at Buchalter, Nemer and Pepper, Hamilton & Scheetz (in Los Angeles); and Weintraub Genshlea (in Sacramento).

I am an attorney-mediator who helps lawyers settle their clients' commercial/business disputes. I am also an arbitrator on the American Arbitration Association's Expedited Commercial Panel. Before becoming a mediator and arbitrator, I litigated "bet the company" environmental insurance coverage, antitrust, securities and intellectual property disputes as well as smaller commercial disputes of all types. I practiced law for 25 years in California before becoming a mediator and arbitrator. I earned my JD from U.C. Davis School of Law (Order of the Coif) and my LL.M in conflict resolution from the Straus Institute of dispute resolution. I have taught business law at California State University, negotiation at UCLA's Anderson School of business, and mediation at USC School of Law and the Straus Institute, Pepperdine School of Law. I teach lawyers deposition and trial skills through the National Institute of Trial Advocacy and Solo Practice University. I have trained lawyers, executives and managers at AmLaw 100 and 200 law firms and Fortune 500 companies how to negotiate better deals. I am a member of the Distinguished Panel of Neutrals with the prestigious International Institute of Conflict Prevention and Resolution and am one of the founding members of Mediators Beyond Borders. My book, "A is for Asshole, the ABC's of Conflict Resolution" will be published by Janis Publications this summer.
